I am in flipping China, cut off from the world (we shot in NYC and then I hopped a plane here for a much needed day job) so that makes things more difficult (the net here is soooo slow).Īn example of what happens in Premiere with MERGED CLIPS. For 5+ years I used CS5 and mostly two channel audio and never had audio issues. I need to get going, sync this audio, somehow, so I can edit. PLEASE someone advise me how I can move forward here.

And Premiere Pro clearly has a huge bug with Merged Clips. WHen it did work, it didn’t because it gave me downmixed two channel audio.

I don’t understand how to use PluralEyes. Not one single tutorial is similar to what I have so all of the hours of YouTubing I’ve done are useless. Day 1 audio is multi-track (3 tracks) and Day 2 was recorded on a Zoom and I have three separate mono audio tracks for each take. I have TWO days of audio and unfortunately two different methods of recording (scheduling conflict) so that does complicate matters.

I have 1080p footage from the Sony FS700 camera card and I also have the 2k ProRes footage from the Odyssey Recorder, which I had to ‘fix’ with their CDProres transfer 1.5 software for Premiere to understand the spanned clips. I DESPERATELY need help on how to move forward. I have read dozens of posts online from people furious at this huge flaw.

But that function is hugely flawed! Your merged clips save with the audio all out of sync! Each track is off by 1/16 to 1/2 a frame, which is plenty. I have tried syncing in Premiere using Merged clips. or Premiere first, then into PluralEyes and back. Now I have tried going into PluralEyes first, then into Premiere. I have CC 2015, plus I downloaded PluralEyes. After finally figuring out my merged clip problem (stupid Odyssey Recorder!) I have spent a great deal of time trying to sync my sound.

Transcode everything in Resolve to OP-Atom files and just make sure that your Conform Options are setup so that the Reel/Tape Column is Populated. Once all the Sub Clips are done just right click on them and select AutoSync. You could also create Stacks then Sub Clips from the Stacks. If your using a newer version of Avid it has AutoSync by Audio Waveform, you could use that or sync manually. It always brings in random Master Clips which then need to be sorted through and cleaned up. I really find PluralEyes to be less than great, even with Premiere. The Audio guys will want the Original Audio and there will be no link back to any of it. Especially if the Audio is going to a separate mix outside of Avid and you create new files. You will have relink issues with both your Video and Audio. Actually stay away from PluralEyes altogether especially with Avid. Only Version 3 of PluralEyes works with Avid not Version 4 and I would stay away from creating new files. I think your English is better than mine actually. You are very clear and if English is not your Native Language you wrote a very easy to understand Post.
